Vice President of Operations

This position supports division/company goals through manufacturing, distribution, quality and materials functions. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all functions of purchasing, distribution, manufacturing and logistics
  • Meet customer service needs through on-time performance with quality products
  • Responsible for material variances/cost reduction goals
  • Direct manufacturing development strategy for North America and Asia.
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Support / direct lean manufacturing principles
  • Direct operations in the US, Canada, Hong Kong and China
  • Manage supervisors who supervise employees in the Operations Department. 
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this department.
  • Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals, rewarding/disciplining employees and addressing complaints to resolve problems.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4-10 years related experience and/or training in operations, finance, manufacturing or management. 
  • The minimum education required for the position is a Bachelor’s degree in operations, finance, manufacturing or management, Master’s degree (M.A.) preferred. 
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
