Kärcher Appoints Joseph Jones as Chief Executive Officer, US

Schaffer Associates, Inc. and the Presidents Council of the Home Improvement Industry are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer for one of the Council’s Advisory Board Sponsors. As the Organizational Strategies Advisor for the Presidents Council and the industry’s leading executive search firm, Schaffer Associates was retained by Alfred Kärcher GmbH of Winnenden, Germany to recruit the new CEO for their U.S. subsidiary.

As a result of these efforts, Joseph L. Jones has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Alfred Kärcher, Inc. based in Duluth, Georgia. Jones, 51, most recently was the President and General Manager of the Productivity
Solutions Division of Ingersoll-Rand Company, Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Prior to
that, he was President of the Stanley Tools Division of The Stanley Works, New Britain, CT, where he was employed for twenty-three years. Jones holds an undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Pennsylvania State University, and he served as an officer in the U.S. Army.

Kärcher, the leading global manufacturer of power cleaning equipment, entered the U.S. market in 1982 where it has continued to pioneer leading-edge indoor and outdoor cleaning products. It maintains manufacturing operations in Rancho Cucamonga, CA from which it distributes
throughout North America. In addition to its growth as a premier
manufacturer of commercial systems, Kärcher has also established a significant presence in the U.S. retail market for its pressure washer
category. Jones' experience in both the retail and commercial sectors will
enable him to effectively lead a strong expansion of the U.S. business base in both existing and new product categories.
