August 9 - The presentation will feature proactive strategies to recruit pro dealer leaders of the future, including succession planning, entry level recruiting, minority recruiting and the concept of “golden handcuffs” for all employee levels.

The session will be led by Jim Schaffer, a former EVP and chief operating officer of Builders Square and currently the president of Schaffer Associates, a consultancy that specializes in organizational strategies and executive search within the home improvement industry.

The task of recruiting is made more difficult by several macroeconomic trends. More than 2.5 million new jobs were created in the last two years, and the rise of big box retailing has had a significant impact on the pro dealer ranks.
