Channel Marketing Manager- Pro/Paint Channel

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sr. Vice President of Marketing, develop and execute the marketing strategy for the professional and paint channels. Working with other departments,  develop sales plans, promotions, merchandising, end-user initiatives, advertising, brand development and product launches, focusing on driving sales growth and increasing margins

Principle Responsibilties

  • Identify commercial opportunities for the channels and key accounts (Grainger, SW, Evergreen, etc.), develop and implement annual strategies, and manage the development of initial marketing mix priorities in accordance with corporate marketing and brand objectives
  • Manage all marketing initiatives to the specified budgets for both channels and customers.  Responsible for managing the Commercial Marketing Coordinator-Pro Channel position.
  • Communicate channel(s) product line opportunities and determine channel requirements and priorities for Product Marketing and Engineering teams.  Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales Managers, Engineering, and Marketing Communications to implement them.
  • Working closely with Product Marketing, Marketing, and Engineering, to develop and implement commercial launch strategies for new products and company initiatives within the channel(s).  Understand key channel issues regarding product roll outs and end-users.
  • Working with Marketing Communications, provide direction for literature, trade shows, advertising, promotions, customer presentations and meetings that support channel(s) objectives.  Determine promotional tools needed to achieve specified channel(s) objectives, and implement and execute promotions.
  • Act as the liaison with the Sales Managers representing the channel(s) to drive commercial strategy, and take an active role in both customer presentations and regional/national sales meetings.
  • Respond to daily correspondence from Product Marketing, Sales Managers, distributors and customers promptly and professionally and coordinate the activities of functional areas within the Company.  Recommend product and sales training materials for use by our field sales organization, and channel content for all videos and collateral material.
  • Understand sales forecasts, projected market penetration, recommended sales policies and budget estimates.  Work closely with the Sales & Marketing analyst to understand financials, POS data, and profitability of products, customers and channel(s).

Education & Experience

Education:              BS/BA Degree with emphasis in Marketing or Sales

                            Preferred MBA, emphasis in Marketing or Sales

Experience:         Four to six years of channel management experience, ideally working in one or more of the following businesses: Professional Channel and Paint Channel.  Experience with major accounts (Grainger, White Cap and Sherwin Williams) required.

                            A solid track record with proven results in channel management, sales and

                            marketing.

Travel:                  Expected travel between 30% to 50% of the time.
